First, we should make it clear that whether Partition Magic 9 exists or not. To tell the truth, there is no Partition Magic 9 in the world. The final version of Partition Magic is Norton Partition Magic 8. Why I emphasize on Norton? Because Partition Magic was originally developed by PowerQuest Corporation, but Symantec purchased it on December 5, 2003 and renamed it as Norton Partition Magic.

The final version of Partition Magic is Partition Magic 8.0.5, released by Symantec on May 5, 2004. Then Symantec stated that they no longer offer Partition Magic. So Partition Magic 9 is inexistence actually. When people talking about "Partition Magic 9", what they really mean is a synonym for partition tool.

Several years ago, Partition Magic was the best-known hard disk management software which lets you quickly and easily organize your hard drive by creating, copying and resizing disk partitions without destroying existing data. Separate your operating system, applications, documents, music, photos, games, video, etc. Some key features of Partition Magic 8 are dividing a single hard drive into two or more partitions so that you can safely run multiple operating systems on the same PC. Its How-to wizards guide you step by step through the partitioning process. It allows you to enlarge a NTFS partition without restarting your computer and to resize NTFS system clusters to the most effective size.

Partition Magic enables to make your hard disk more efficient and provide greater security for your data. Unfortunately, Symantec won’t update Partition Magic any more. Good news is, there are Partition Magic substitutes-Partition Magic 9, even named by users.
