How to Run System Restore in Windows 7

There are mainly five ways to run system restore Windows Vista and Windows 7.

  • 1. Start Menu>type rstrui.exe
  • 2. Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
  • 3. Control Panel>Recovery>Open System Restore
  • 4. Start Menu>Computer>Properties>System Protection
  • 5. System restore from boot: Use Windows 7 installation disc/system repair disc when booting.

Then follow Microsoft’s guide for more information if you need period restore.

Restore Windows XP System

Start computer, press F8, choose “Safe mode with a command prompt”, then Select system. Then choose Administrator, type "%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" in the command prompt, hit Enter. You will see: Restore my computer to an earlier time. The next step is to decide restore point in the calendar. Of course, you can use the methods above to get in restore quickly. However, sometimes users may fail to restore a point which with certain setting can be fixed. Another question is that this tool cannot restore personal settings like email, documents, or photos.

Easier Way and Safer Way to Restore
