Preface

Since the Windows Server 2003 was released, it was given the characters of safety, practicality, reliability and extendibility. That is why so many users choose it as their operating system. Accordingly, the partition management in the server is also becoming particularly important for those users. As the disk space is occupied by more and more applications and files, the machine would have some problems in running. When something wrong happening, to most of users, they all want to solve all problems with computer itself, because they think this is the convenient and money-saving for them to do that. Actually, in many cases, built-in function is not almighty, even it is more complicated than some third-party software, Such as the built-in Disk Management in Windows 2003 does not have the function of resizing and moving volume except expanding the one with a contiguous space right behind. Therefore, administrators only can take some most common measures to improve the disk capacity, like deleting some useless programs, reinstall the system to extend partition C, etc.

Actually, there is another way to get out of this problem, simple and quick. That is to use the third party software – AOMEI Partition Assistant Lite Edition.

Introduction of AOMEI Partition Assistant Lite Edition

AOMEI Partition Assistant Lite Edition is a free partition manager server. It has many features which can make up for the limitation of Disk Management and meet most users' needs. With its help, the operating system could work more smoothly and faster. Let us see what it can really do:

Resize (extend/shrink) volume: If the usage of partition’s space, one partition is too large, but seldom of space can be used, and the other partition is small, but you used a lot of space. Under this circumstance, you can consider to resize partition space.

Create and delete volume: To new computer or one computer that contains the unallocated space, it is necessary to create volume to make use of the space of hard disk. However, if you think some data and partition in volume is useless, or want to repartition disk, you can delete volume to make it.

Wipe and move volume: If you want to delete some data that is very private or furtive, you can use the function called “wipe partition” to wipe out the volume. The greatest difference from disk management in computer is that it can protect the deleted data and files from recovery. Move volume can make the partition exchange the place with the unallocated space.

Format, change label: Formatting is actually the act of creating a file system on a volume (you could also use this function to change the file system between NTFS and FAT 32, FAT), so that the operating system can store and retrieve data on that volume/partition.

Check drive letter, hide/unhide volume:Confusion may occur among those drives letters when you finish upgrading computer system or connecting multiple hard disks. If you want to bring order out of chaos and reorganize your drives in a certain way, changing the drive letter can be the most effective way. If you want to protect data and files in volume from leaking, you can use the function “hide/unhide volume”.

This software Supports all editions of Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, Windows Small Business Server 2003, 2008, 2011 or Windows Home Server 2011;
