How to Change Drive Letter?

July 12, 2018

If we don’t like the letter Windows has assigned to a new drive or we want to organize our drive letters in a certain way, we can change the drive letter.

We can assign letter (from C: to Z:) to each drive in our computers. Letter A and B are usually reserved for floppy disk drives, but if our computers don’t have floppy disk drives, we can assign A and B to volumes.

To change drive letter on dynamic disk, please follow the steps:

Step1: Launch AOMEI Dynamic Disk Manager

Step2: Right-click the volume you want to change drive letter, for example E: drive, and select “Change Letter”.

Step3: In the pop-up window, choose a letter you want to use.

Step4: Finally, click “Commit” to perform pending operations.

You can choose whichever drive letter you like with Dynamic Disk Manager. Free download it to check how it works.
