What is dynamic volume?
Dynamic disks were first introduced from Windows 2000 and provide features that basic disks do not. Like basic disks, which are the most commonly used storage type found on computers running Microsoft Windows, and there are two schemes (MBR and GPT) that can be applied to dynamic disk. All volumes on dynamic disks are known as dynamic volume. Dynamic volumes are classified into Simple Volume, Spanned Volume, Striped Volume, Mirrored Volume and RAID 5 Volume.
Dynamic disks provide greater flexibility for volume management because they use a
named LDM database to track information about dynamic volumes on the disk and about
other dynamic disks in the computer. Because each dynamic disk in a computer stores
a replica of the dynamic disk database, Windows Server is capable of repairing
corrupted dynamic volumes by using the record information on another dynamic

Can I convert dynamic volume to basic volume?
