What Is Partition Copy Wizard?

"Partition Copy Wizard" is a feature in AOMEI Partition Assistant, a professional and safe partition management third party software, functions in copy disk partition from original location to another place to make a duplicate of source partition for security sake.

Step One. To make use of this feature, first download (free edition or free trial of charged edition) or purchase (charged edition) the proper edition which suit you most and install it on your computer. Then, run AOMEI Partition Assistant, in the main window, you can find the disk and partition list. There are all four enterances to Partition Copy Wizard.

  • Choose "Partition Copy Wizard" on the left Wizards column;

  • Click on the partition you are going to copy and  choose "Copy Partition" on the left Partition Operations column;

  • Right click on target partition and select "Copy Partition";

  • Click on source partition and select"Copy Partition" on the topPartitiondrop-down box.

With so many entrances, it is easy to operate. Here, let's take the first one for example.

Note: before you start, make sure you got enough unallocated space in you partition list.

Step Two.In the pop-up window, you can see two options for copy partition to partition: Copy Partition Quickly and Sector-by-Sector Copy. One is copy used space and is highly recommended; the other is copy the entire partition both for the used space and free space, which turns out to be more time consuming but completely.

Here we are going to choose the first one, Copy Partition Quickly.

Step Three. Then next, in this window, all the partitions are listed below, choose one as the source partition.

Tip: If you have decided source partition in advance and click on it to make it active then choose Partition Copy Wizard in Step One, you will skip this step and come directly to the next step.

Step Four. The next to select destination space. You are asked to select an unallocated space as destination. Choose it and "Next".

Tip:Since we chose system partition as destination above, a message will pop up here to suggest using another feature "Migrate OS to SSD" to finish this operation. If you want to have a try, click "Yes" to switch to Migrate OS to SSD wizard; if not, just click "No" to close it and go on.

Step Five.Then the source partition was fitted into the unallocated space, and a new drive letter is created, of course, you can change it. You can specify the capacity here or you can just make the whole unallocated space as a new partition with copied data in it.

The unallocated space we mentioned above, if you don’t see any of it in your partition list, the Next bottom is grayed out. Don’t worry, you can create unallocated space from other partitions. Choose one qualified partition, and then choose Resize/Move Partition on the left column. Then slide the little bar to make one. Apply the operations at last. Learn more...

Step Six.After click "Finish", we can preview the partition list after executing. Confirm it and click "Apply" to carry out the pending operations.
