Why to format hard drive?
In general, we don't advocate formatting the hard drive because it will lose the data we need. But in some cases, it becomes very necessary. If we want to sell our computer, we need to wipe the hard drive; if we are setting a new drive for the first time, we need to empty all data; if the drive is damaged or even corrupted, we need to repair it; and if lots of viruses and Trojan horse have invaded and influences the computer's running seriously, we need to format the drive immediately to solve the problem. What’s more, if change disk between Windows XP and Windows 7 or later, we need to format hard drive to FAT32 or NTFS to suit the operating system.

NTFS file system can support the files bigger than 4GB while FAT32 cannot, so think clearly which file system to choose based on the file's size.
