Scenario: My DELL laptop has 30GB in C drive, but
it only has little free space in drive C now. I wonder how to enlarge Windows 8 system
(C) partition without reinstalling operating system? My D drive has more than 50GB free
space, so I decide to allocate some space to system drive from drive D. I have tried to
solve this problem with Partition Magic, but unfortunately, it can not work in Windows
Partition Magic is the product of Symantec, and it was initially made by PowerGuest.
However, it does have some limitations, such as, it just work in Microsoft Windows
98, 2000, NT, ME and XP. So it can not be processed in Windows 8.
Compared with Windows XP, the built-in Disk Management of Windows 8 does make some
breakthroughs. It has the functions of shrinking and extending volume, meanwhile, it
still has many limitations. However, AOMEI Partition
Assistant is a well-operated partition tool. Here comes a comparison between
AOMEI Partition Assistant and Windows 8 built-in Disk Management.
As you can see from the comparison, AOMEI Partition Assistant is more advanced than
the Windows 8 built-in Disk Management. What's more, you can downloadthe freeware and learn the differences more vividly.
As a magic partition program, AOMEI Partition Assistant is an all-in-one partition
tool for XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 (all editions, and
support 32- bit and 64 bit). It can help you resize partitions in Windows 8 hard
drive without losing any data. And also you can use the computer more efficiently
and keep your data more secure with AOMEI Partition Assistant.
Backup is always suggested before resizing partition, in case of some inevitable
situations. For example, the Windows 8 loses power or goes down.
AOMEI Partition Assistant is also fully compatible with Windows 8.1, and the
steps of resizing partition in Windows 8.1 are the same as those to resize
partition in Windows 8.
Step 1: launch AOMEI Partition Assistant Program. If there is no
unallocated space on the drive, you should shrink other partitions to get some
unallocated apace. (See picture below)
Step 2: right click F partition, select "Resize Partition"
in the pop-up menu, and then the program will open a dialog. (Please refer to the
following screenshot.) In the dialog, you can drag the slider bar on the right
borderline leftwards to shrink partition F, and then click "OK".
Step 3: Then there is an unallocated space, but it is not behind C
Drive. So right click the drive F, choose "Move Partition". Then move
Drive F rightwards to make the unallocated space just behind C partition.
Step 4: Now there is an unallocated space right behind drive C. Then
right click drive C, choose "Resize Partition" and in the pop-up window
drag the right side of the slider bar rightwards to extend the system
Step 5: the extended C drive can be previewed. At last, click "Apply"
in the toolbar to commit the operation.
As you can see above, AOMEI Partition Assistant helps you complete the mission of
extending drive C from 14GB to 24.12GB for your Windows 8 operating system easily.
If you upgrade your Windows 8 to Windows 10, AOMEI Partition Assistant still
supports you expand
primary partition in Windows 10. Why not download the freeware and
experience in person?
